Batch is BACK!

Oh boy, I can’t believe we are here again…but in a different way! For those of you who are new to Batch, let me give you a little background.

In May of 2019 my husband and I decided to do something we had thought about doing for a long time…start our own fresh cookie delivery service. I have always had a deep love for baking and had so many people tell me that I should sell my cookies. So we thought…what the heck, let’s just try it.

We started our business in our home, which happens to have a tiny little kitchen 😂 Starting in May meant that it was already pretty hot in Arizona and therefore the temperature of our kitchen quickly approached the outdoor temps on our first evening of baking and delivering. At the time our little Ava was just 5 months old…and she was definitely one of those more needy babies. Anyway, Ryan and his nephew were in charge of delivering the cookies and I was left at home with Ava (who normally would have been sleeping at the time we were baking but OF COURSE she refused to this *one* night). Ryan’s niece was there to help me too but it was PURE pandemonium. Let’s just say I almost quit within the first 20 minutes of baking because of a crying baby, a hot kitchen, and the pressure to pop out perfectly baked cookies within a short timeline really got to me.

I don’t think I’ve ever been more stressed. I even told Ryan I’d rather go through a C Section again than to feel like that level of stress. Ryan, being the sweet husband he was, talked me off the ledge and convinced me that with a few changes in our strategy we could make the whole process go a lot smoother the next time. I agreed; there were definite things we should fix.

We took a couple of months off to travel during the summer and came home ready to take on our cookie business again in the fall…but I still wasn’t enjoying the whole baking cookies for customers part. The parts I liked? The marketing and social media aspects of the business, the photographing of the cookies (!!!), and the creation of the cookies. We agreed to take a couple of months off again but once we did that I started to dive more and more into photography. We eventually decided it made more sense to invest my time into my growing photography business- and I’m so glad. I’ve absolutely loved learning more about photography and LOVE my job.

When I told friends I wasn’t going to do Batch anymore, many said they understood why but that they were going to miss my cookies. So, I promised a few of them I would share some of my cookie recipes over my photography business’ Instagram. I shared 2 of my cookie recipes and was absolutely SHOCKED by how they floated all over the place and by how many people tagged me or DMed me to ask for more recipes 😂

While my main focus right now will remain with being a mama and photography business owner, I am seriously so excited to bring Batch Cookies back as your go-to cookie blog! I’ve missed being creative in the kitchen and am truly excited to be back.

I hope that you will try my recipes and let me know what you think of them. Tag me in your Instagram posts and leave a review if you can!

Let’s get the party started!!

xoxo

Nicole

I think it is great you have found like what you like to do . Baking to sale can be stressful. There is a lady that does videos of her recipes. She doesn’t sale other than once in a while. She bakes everything. You could do videos of baking your recipes if you wanted. Watch Neuriticmom for the fun of it . She makes mainly cakes.
I have a daughter in law that has stated photography . Sh loves it and been having fun with it. bohophotography. She lives in Germany.
